We’re pleased to let you know that The Nittany Valley Society will be hosting its first live reading of local folklore from our January 2013 book “The Legends of the Nittany Valley”. The legendary stories of our Nittany Valley began as oral stories and have been passed on across generations. It’s in this tradition that we offer and invite you to tonight’s live reading at 7pm at The University Club:
The University Club is thrilled to welcome The Nittany Valley Society’s Thomas A. Shakely for a live reading from their new book, “The Legends of the Nittany Valley.” The reading will include the Legend of Princess Nittany and other folk stories that have furnished the place-names we know today. It will last approximately one hour and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
“The Legends of the Nittany Valley” can be purchased in paperback tonight at The University Club or anytime online in paperback, Kindle, iBooks, and Nook formats. The book’s Introduction can be enjoyed below as a taste of these stories we shared amongst us in the shadow of Mount Nittany.
