TribLive Radio: Penn State 2005

By Chris Buchignani, March 26, 2015

I recently had the great pleasure of joining good friend and fellow LION 90.7fm radio alum Chris “The Buzzsaw” Adamski on his weekly “NittanyScreen Shot 2017-03-05 at 6.00.08 PM.png Nation” podcast on TribLIVE Radio. We talked about the book project on which I am currently collaborating with Kevin Horne – a definitive account of Penn State’s remarkable 2005 football season, coming this Fall from Nittany Valley Press. As we discussed on the show, the improbable turnaround season of ’05, with its memorable personalities, dramatic storylines, and thrilling games, represents one of the great stories of the Nittany Valley.

Young men whose names still linger in Penn State lore – Michael Robinson, Tamba Hali, Paul Posluszny, Derrick Williams – formed bonds as if “God gelled that team together… everybody at the right place at the right time,” as Williams recently described it. Joe Paterno once again staved off his critics, and Penn Staters everywhere rediscovered their love for one of America’s great communal traditions, making lasting memories along the way.

We are looking forward to bringing all that together in celebration of the season’s 10th anniversary, and it was a lot of fun to talk all about it with the Buzzsaw. You can listen to my segment on the show:

And you can also listen to the entire hour, which also features State College resident Matt Brown, college football and basketball writer for Sports on Earth:
